Routine Obstetrics

• We aim to see all obstetric patients within a week or next day if needed

• All Obstetric patients will receive physician directed care

• It is important, especially in the first pregnancy, to have a vaginal delivery, if possible. Therefore, we practice evidence based medicine to exhaust the possibility of vaginal delivery before recommending a primary cesarean delivery. Dr. White’s career primary cesarean delivery rate on Term, nulliparous, singleton, vertex rate is below national average.

  • Term - 37 weeks or greater

  • Nulliparous - first time mother

  • Singleton - only 1 baby (not twins)

  • Vertex - head down (not breech)

High risk Obstetrics

• Blood pressure disorders - including hypertension and preeclampsia

• Gestational diabetes

• Type 2 diabetes

• Advanced maternal age

• Twins

• Insulin management in pregnancy, using modern insulin pumps and glucose monitors (less finger sticks)

• We work closely with high risk medicine when needed

• We offer antenatal testing (nonstress tests, NSTs) in the office, therefore less trips to labor and delivery
